The Male Cardinal

The male Cardinal, after a hard day at work (what could he do all day long, hey?), came briefly to visit his family, kiss his wife goodnight, tell her to continue taking good care of the kids, and then flew away to go watch his TV show. He didn’t stay long, took me by surprise, and it was a little too dark so the photo is not great. However, you’ll have the idea how colorful that little guy is.

Our new neighbours

Laurie called me at work this afternoon to let me know that a family of cardinals – a mother, a father, and their babies – decided to do their nest in the bush right behind our kitchen window in our backyard. I decided to try taking a few pictures when I came home from work. The father stayed too away from us but I’m sure I’ll be able to get him next time. I think I got pretty good shots of the mother and her babies. My favorite picture is the one where the mother is feeding one of the two nestlings. What’s yours?

Another big storm hits Windsor

What’s geocaching? Well, it’s simple and very well explained on the website itself:
“Geocaching (pronounced geo-cashing) is a worldwide game of hiding and seeking treasure. A geocacher can place a geocache in the world, pinpoint its location using GPS technology and then share the geocache’s existence and location online. Anyone with a GPS device can then try to locate the geocache.”

It’s a really fun game. My fellow CQ coworkers had me started, and now I’m hooked. I also go with Read the rest of this entry »

Red Bull Air Races – Windsor 2010

This weekend Windsor and Detroit hosted the Red Bull Air Races show. We haven’t had the chance to go see it (we did last year) but at last we heard those planes going over our house all weekend long.
I grabbed the link of the above video from Rob’s site (thanks man):
