SkyVenture Montreal 2011

On Dec1 I was invited by the Compu-Quote Sales Team as I was in Montreal for a business trip: limo, SkyVenture, and restaurant. SkyVenture is a freefall simulator (http://www.skyventuremontreal.com/en). Here is an extract of the video where I have my 2 times 60 seconds (60 seconds, it’s actually quite long when you are in there!). It was way harder than I thought.
It was so much fun!

Blizzard in Windsor

10:56 PM, Tuesday February 1st, 2011

We are supposed to get between 8 and 12 inches (20-30 cm) of snow between tonight and tomorrow. The wind is now blowing pretty hard, it’s damned cold, and visibility out there already reduced drastically. Local radios and TV’s launched a blizzard warning, the first one since 1999. There will be some shoveling tomorrow morning! We just heard that school buses won’t be running tomorrow morning. School closings won’t be announced before the morning, and it’s possible that a few businesses will be closed as well. It’s recommended not to drive out there in the morning. We’ll see what happens.
Below an interesting satellite image of the beast, and a link to a picture Laurie took with her iPhone in front of the house around 8:30 PM:

Nature moment

Yesterday we went to John R Homestead Conservation Area after blueberry picking and had a great time there. After buying local honey, eating a few hotdogs, and visiting the 1850 mansion with it’s amazing back porch with its lake view, we went for the 3:00 pm butterfly information session.
While a beautiful huge Tiger Swallowtail butterfly was flying around, it landed on a tall flower and allowed me to take its picture. I believe the best picture I have ever taken in my life (thanks to the iPhone 4).
