My soon new toy: the Apple iPhone 4

Apple just revealed its last toy, the brand new iPhone 4. Below the enhancements compared to last year 3GS model (I have the model before, the 3G, so differences are even bigger):
– New design, 3mm thinner (from 12,3mm to 9,3 mm)
– Retina display, 960-by-640-pixel resolution at 326 ppi (from 480-by-320-pixel resolution at 163 ppi), 800 :1 ratio contrast
– HD video recording
– 5-megapixel still camera, LED Flash
– Three-axis gyro sensor
– Battery capacity +40%
– Front facing camera for video calling (Wi-Fi only for now)
– Multitasking, folders, multiple Exchange accounts…
And more. It’s time to replace my 3G. Unfortunately I still have to wait July as the iPhone 4 will not ship in Canada before then. No waiting list at Rogers yet but the wait starts.
It’s going to be my Christmas before Christmas!

June storms in Windsor

Friday night and Saturday night we had huge, I talking about HUGE storms with tons of water.
Here is what April recorded with her iPhone on Friday (Thank you April for the video!):

Saturday night, as we had Boris and Vivian at our house, rain continued to fall on us in buckets and our backyard got half way flooded, and fortunately our basement didn’t get one drop. We were very fortunate, especially when others weren’t and are facing huge cleanups (like Dan and April, sorry to hear that guys). I guess it was a smart move to have our basement waterproofed when we redid it 3 years ago!
On a side note, Leamington had been hit by a tornado at 3:p00 am this Sunday:

My 2 loves: France and Canada

Yesterday night, French food craziness: fois gras, duck rillettes, red wine, French bread, snails, and amazing French cheeses.
This morning, home made pancakes with maple syrup from Quebec, with a nice maple syrup special tea.
Yum, yum, and some more yumness!

Damned dandelions!

Tonight, I removed exactly 199 dandelions from my front yard, and I’m sure I missed a few.
Damned weeds.

Mmmm French food

As we just received awesome sausage (saucisson) from France in the mail (thank you Papa Maman), I went to buy red wine (Cotes du Ventoux), a half baguette, natural butter, and Roquefort.
After loosing all my professionals archived emails (almost 4 years of emails), I needed that to get my sanity back.
Cheers!

Young Me, Now Me

Today Yahoo mentioned an interesting website that I just fell in love with. This website, called “Young Me, Now Me”, allows you to upload two picture of yourself: an old picture when you were young, and a more recent picture of you in the same situation/position. Very interesting concept and the results are I have to say phenomenal. I love the idea.

Although at first it is a lot of fun to watch, very soon a feeling of nostalgia sinks in. You will smile at certain pictures, laugh at others, and sometimes you will feel kind of sad.

I’ll have to ask my parents where I put my old teddy bear so I can do mine ;)

Tell me what you think about it!
